The Reading Hospital Cardiovascular Fellowship is a 3 year, ACGME accredited program. We accept 6 fellows per year. Fellowship training is primarily based at the Reading Hospital
The Reading Hospital is a high-volume center for noninvasive cardiac procedures as well as cardiovascular interventions and structural cardiac procedures including TAVR, PFO/ASD closure, Watchman procedure, and MitraClip procedure. Reading Hospital also provides advanced electrophysiology procedures including atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter ablation, VT ablation, device implantation, and lead extraction. In addition, Reading Hospital and Tower Health has a high-volume cardiothoracic surgery service. Cardiovascular training at Reading Hospital and its peripheral sites allow fellows to gain competence in the care of patients exhibiting a wide array of cardiac conditions, providing an opportunity for a broad educational experience.
Academic affiliation with the Drexel University College of Medicine allows fellows to be involved in the teaching of medical students and residents as well as participate in clinical research. Furthermore, within Tower Health and Reading Hospital, there is a dynamic educational environment with multiple primary residencies and subspecialty fellowship programs. Additional medical fellowships are available in Hematology and Oncology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary Critical Care medicine, Endocrinology and Infectious Disease.
It is a goal of the program that graduates be excellent clinicians, board certified cardiovascular specialists with a strong knowledge base, lifelong researchers, procedural experts, and teachers for future cardiovascular specialists.
