Call for Abstracts

We encourage faculty, trainees, students and staff to submit new, exciting or ongoing research work. Research could include basic science and clinical research, case reports, and/or QI.

All projects require documentation of IRB review.

In May, 2024, SCHC had one of it’s most successful Research Days in recent memory. Fifty-three abstracts were submitted to the online portal, almost doubling the number from 2023. Most abstracts were clinical research, but there were QI Projects, Qualitative and Basic Research, Advocacy, Medical Education, as well as Case Reports and Series. Abstracts were submitted by learners across the continuum; from high school, college and medical school, nursing, residency, fellowship, and attendings. Research topics were focused on SCHC and our local community (gun violence, naloxone in the ED, QI projects from our outpatient Center for the Urban Child (CUC), hematology research about SCHC patients, and Biofire infectious disease diagnostics that led to quicker results. There were also collaborators from over 15 different schools and hospitals from around the country. The abstracts were from colleagues in surgery, general pediatrics, subspecialties, nursing, and public health, covering a myriad of topics. This year we hope to continue our growth and exceed 70 abstracts.

The Submission deadline is Monday, March 31, 2025 at 11:59pm. Once you submit your abstract, you will receive an email confirmation.
